I’m Charles from Shield protocol. I’m a continuous entrepreneur in Fintech industry and ex-founder of a listed company. I’ve worked in crypto for 3 years and have experiences of running centralized exchange. Now building Shield protocol.
When it comes to the project, the reason for us to build sheild is that before the birth of blockchain, most systems of governance in human society, including the familiar banks, exchanges, Internet majors, and social institutions were built on a zero-sum game.
Zero-sum game systems pinned their hopes on leaving organizational functions, or providing order to combat entropy growth, to a few centralized strongmen. But as we will see later, a governance system based on zero-sum games is an unstable structure that moves to the left or to the right as the power of the game parties changes, a structure that from day one determines the convergence of power to the strongest side of the game leading to the collapse and reconstruction of order over and over again.
So Shield protocol is such a non-cooperative game network, which can only be stable in the long run if the game is played by multiple parties for their own good without caring about the interests of others.

Question : Can you list 1–3 killer features of SHIELD that makes it ahead of its competitors? What is the competitive advantage your platform ?

Ok cool, this one is good question to go! It’s known that there’re some products on decentralized derivative market but Shield presents one-of-a-kind solution to deal with challenges (Delayed price feed, Order matching limitation, Costly market making, Delayed liquidation) on a fully decentralized way. Some may choose offchain matching, sidechain, or Layer2.
However, Shield thinks that only adopting the features of defi and satisfying the demand for individual trading that have not been met on CEX is the correct path to develop a decentralized derivatives exchange. As for the Risk-free perpetual contracts, currently we have no competitors that can offer such an innovative financial product. But we like dYdX and think it is potentially the biggest competitor.
So I would say Shield is quite unique compared to the other potential competitors. I can talk about the following unique selling points:
-0 Position Loss
-Unlimited Liquidity by well hedged private pool and retail-focused public pool to ensure strong liquidity for traders
-High leverage, the option like funding fee model enables up to 100x leverage
-Decentralized Brokerage System, the first trustless brokerage system on chain with higher commission rate than CEX.

Shield is community itself I would say and will be governed by Dao in the near future. Community will participate the govanance and hand with us to reshape the future derivatives protocol.

We do have go-to-market strategy to get users and liquidity.
-Product-oriented
Risk-free perpetual not only significantly decreases retail traders’ without potential downside risk on-chain, but also satisfies the non-custodial, permissionless and auditable features of decentralized derivatives on this DeFi boom. This unique selling point will attract end users in crypto and stay addictive to Shield once they try.
-Decentralized brokerage system and global KOL strategy
Shield is the first dex to implement a brokerage system in a fully trustless environment. Brokers can earn up to 40%-100% commission rate on Shield, which is way higher than CEX and are allowed to claim and check the rewards anytime. And Shield will always capture new users with global KOL strategy and connections.We have partnered with global KOLs and trader communities now, including Russia, Turkey, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, etc.
-Sales team
Shield team has rich experiences on running centralized crypto exchanges and Shield has been working on a sales team to keep educating the new users under mature user acquisition strategy.

Question : What is the use of SLD? Why do we use Liquidity Mining when it is Perpetual?
SLD is the native ERC-20 token of Shield.
-Governance
Shield is community-oriented and will be governed by DAO. Shield will gradually transit to community governance and reshape the infrastructure of future derivatives.
-Swap&burn
The mechanism is that 10% of the total SLD would always be equal to 100% of the swap&burn value, thus generating a repurchase price. Anyone can go swap&burn to earn profits.

Question : Most users only care about immediate benefits rather than the real value of the project in the long-term. How can SHIELD convince users invest to your platform in the long-term?

Shield team strongly believe that only decentralized blockchain network based on a fully non-cooperative game can build up a secure, stable and open derivatives trading market in the long run. Shield project is user-oriented from day 1 and try to satisfy retail traders’ demand that even cannot be fullfilled in the centralized exchange(e.g 0 position loss).
With the DeFi boom, Shield team strive to bring innovative financial product on chain embedded with non-custodial, trustless and disintermediated features of DeFi, therefore Shield has the potential to reshape the future of derivatives market and building the infrasturucure of decentralized derivatives.

The unique point here is that the perpetual contract without potential position loss, thus avoiding huge downside risk or even liquidation that caused by the price delay.The protocol allows users to open short or long positions with prepaid funding fee in a fully trustless way. The maximum loss is capped by the prepaid funding fee, while the gain has infinite potential.

we do not have staking program. instead we have liquidity mining rewards for providing liquidity for public pool
Question : Why you build your token on Ethereum blockchain? As we all know Ethereum has scalability issues? Any plan to move on other blockchain or mainnet?

Question : What does your roadmap for 2021–22 look like? Name some important milestones you are hoping to achieve?
For this year 2021, we released our first product, which is the perpetual option. At the end of 2021, around December, we will release the Shield 2.0 product — Standard Perpetual. Then in the middle of next year, the structured product will be released.
Question : Do you have any Coin Burn / BuyBack systems or any $Token Burn plans to increase the value of Token & attract Investors to invest?
Yes. anyone can swap SLD into DAI/USDT/USDC through our buy back and burn system.
Question : What is the strategy used by Your Project to attract new users and investors and keep them in the long term?
we will be the largest derivatives protocol on BSC. cause we are talking with binance about the future promotion cooperation
Question : What innovations has SHIELD brought to the DEFI space? How is SHIELD changing the new DeFi ecosystem and what are the plans for next 100 days?
we are the first perpetual option protocol. For option traders：1）Exercise at any moment and has no expiration date 2）Long-term exposure without the need to roll position, decrease opertional work and risk 3)Concentrated liquidity, avoid liquidity fragmentation by differnet expiration date and price
for perpetual traders：1）No position loss, the gain has infinite potantial while the maximum loss is capped by the funding fee 2）Leverage on-chain, up to 100x-1000x
